Seiji and Mr Z

I think this is the week of Seiji. My lovely friend Aki on IG wanted to see a photo of these two after I posted the last one of Seiji and Head. How could I ever reject such a request?! I thought I would post it here as well…. Because I can.

Little Seiji and his Uncle Daisuke.

If I were to follow my own story these two would never actually meet since they are decades apart (Daisuke would have passed on long before Seiji is even thought of… So sad when I see it typed out). So cute photographed together.

Every year at the Sakura Matsuri there is an awesome vendor who sells vintage kimono panels. I’ve gotten some really lovely pieces from her in the past. This year I had Z and Daisuke in mind. When I brought these up to the vendor the first thing she said was “it seems that someone likes the older pieces”. It turns out that these these date back to the 1940s (perfect for Z and Head). The top one is hemp and has some sheerness to it. I was given a discount on the middle piece because it was patched and stained (the patchwork and stain was the selling point for me so a big win with the discount). I’m either going to have someone make kimono/haori/yukata for my two or attempt it myself. I might even get a bit left over to make some hanao for geta or even some prop items. Very excited about these finds.

It looks like Seiji made a friend.

I still have a few photos to edit from the lovely meet that happened yesterday. It was such a beautiful day and perfect for photo taking. Here is a cute one that stuck out and made me chuckle a little. Seiji is my little guy but the lovely lady sitting with him belongs to sentrythedefiant. I had asked Amber if it was okay to photograph the two together. The colors of their outfits match exactly.
Maybe she’s a dark queen and Seiji is her minion or maybe this could be something of a Kuroshitsuji spin off where she is his nanny. Too many possible stories to tell here and they all smell of success… As soon as someone gets on writing and animating it.

There were so many cuties at this meet so more photos to come.

Seams sanded, bathed, restrung and he even got a hair cut. Seiji is ready to go out and play… As long as he doesn’t get his outfit dirty.

So the last of the geta orders are packed and ready to go out tomorrow. Thank you so much to everyone who purchased, commented, liked and reblogged my little geta! It seriously means a lot to me.

Workspace wednesday: Screen printing more geta bags this evening. I found this old screen I made a few years back and thought I would give it a try to see if it was worth keeping. Still looks good to me.

Oh man I was going to ask if they fit Soom hooves T_T

I’m honestly not sure because I don’t have a pair myself but I think the Soom hooves might be too large for these. The bases are 8cm x 3.5cm. The Hanao doesn’t stretch.
